An experienced pharmacist, and valued member of the clinic, Andrew provides support to patients who have questions regarding their medication, are concerned about the side effects their medication, or the number of medications they, or a family member, are on (polypharmacy). Andrew provides the time, expertise and explanation which is often needed when taking medications for the first time, either for the short, long term. Andrew can support you in the conversation you may need to have with your GP or prescribing clinician if you are looking to change your medication or adjust your dose as a result of your symptoms changing for the better or worse.
Another important role Andrew provides is a deeper and individualised understanding of possible contraindications that your current conventional medication may have with your herbal or nutraceutical interventions.
Andrew’s journey to being part of our team.
Andrew Mole is an expert clinical pharmacist passionate about enabling his patients to achieve their individual health goals. Graduating in 2016, with a First Class Master of Pharmacy degree (MPharm) from the University of Portsmouth, Andrew spent the early part of his career honing his skills in community pharmacy.
In 2017, while working as a pre-registration pharmacist, Andrew was highly commended for his outstanding approach to patient care by the Chemist+Druggist at their annual awards ceremony. After receiving this national recognition, Andrew registered as a fully licensed pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (
GPhC).
Andrew left community pharmacy in 2018 to begin work as a specialist pharmacist in care home medicine. Working closely with the local Geriatrician, Andrew gained extensive experience in polypharmacy and developed the skills required to safely reduce tablet burden for his patients.
After undertaking extensive postgraduate learning with the Centre for Postgraduate Pharmacy Education, Andrew went on to study for a diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Exeter. Andrew was awarded a distinction for his work.
His desire to continually improve then saw Andrew undertake a Practice Certificate in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing, again with the University of Exeter. Andrew was awarded a Dean’s Commendation and subsequently annotation on the GPhC register as an Independent Prescriber. Annotation on the register allows Andrew to prescribe and DEprescribe medication in accordance with his own competence.
